Certain Consumers Benefit From Reiki Services In San Diego

By Allyson Burke

Reiki is an ancient holistic therapy that was first used in the East. It is thought to bring healing to the soul, body, and spirit, and promote deep relaxation and reduce stress. To fully understand Reiki services in San Diego and the use of the healing-promoting hand positions with which it is associated, a basic foundation of knowledge of something called the chakras is necessary. The latter are also referred to as life energy forces. Pronounced shock-ruh or chock-ruh, the origin of the phrase is Sanskrit, and is the Indian word for wheel. It is believed that individuals who can see chakras view them as colored wheels that spin and move at different speeds based on the client's energy levels.

Six chakras influence the body systems of circulation, breathing, digestion, sensory perception, secretion and reproduction. In addition, the whole being and the brain share one chakra, for a total of 7 primary chakras. Corresponding to every organ in the body, chakras are located at the bottom of the pelvis, the solar plexus, throat, navel, heart, forehead, and top of the head.

Chakras play a crucial role in Reiki as they do in almost all healing arts. Deficiencies in chakras are thought to point to illnesses in the area of the body with which that particular chakra is associated. To help patients achieve optimum health, Reiki seeks to balance, open, and clear these chakras, bringing well-being and healing to the client.

The root chakra is situated at the base of the pelvis where it influences the large intestines, spinal column, legs, kidneys, and adrenaline glands. It helps keep patients connected to their physical world, and promotes appropriate desires such as that for food, shelter and other things vital to life. When imbalanced, the individual may feel victimized, paranoid, selfish, or even enraged.

The naval chakra, also referred to as the sacral chakra, influences the bladder, spleen, testicles, ovaries, and reproductive system. If it is balanced, it promotes healthy emotions and sexuality, and increases a person's natural creativity. If it is not balanced, reproductive disorders may develop, or the person may become addicted to food or sex, or feel confused or jealous.

The solar plexus chakra, which is commonly referred to as the power seat, affects the person at an intellectual level. It can help one achieve his or her hopes and dreams when it is balanced. It is also linked to the pancreas, gallbladder, stomach, liver.

The heart chakra is at the center of one's emotions, and links the spiritual to the physical. It controls the lower lungs, heart, thymus gland, skin, and circulatory system. It also controls the upper lungs, jaw, thyroid gland, vocal cords, and throat. This chakra influences an individual's ability to communicate or be creative.

Connected to the pituitary gland and central nervous system, the third eye chakra influences the brain, eyes, face, nose, and almost all the organs in the head. When balanced, this chakra opens intuition, visualization, and promotes visions beyond ordinary sight.

The crown chakra, which is associated with the pineal gland and endocrine system, plays a major role in daily health. Balance in the crown chakra results in true inner peace and helps individuals to connect to their source of spiritual wisdom. Blockages in this chakra are thought to produce fear of death and feelings of loneliness and inferiority. Ultimately, individuals who feel they may benefit from Reiki services in San Diego should seek a qualified holistic practitioner from whom to receive this therapy.
